Vardhman Mahavir Medical College was established at Safdarjung Hospital (one of the largest hospitals in India, started during the Second World War) in November 2001. Vardhman Mahavir Medical College (VMMC) is a medical college in New Delhi. It is attached with the famous Safdarjang Hospital for clinical teaching. The college is affiliated with the Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU), New Delhi, and is recognized by the Medical Council of India (MCI). There is separate Building for and Hostel & Residential Complex spread over an area of 11 Acres and constructed built up area of 109265 square meter. The college has Examination Hall 2nos available of area covers 200 square meter with seating capacity 250 and Lecture Theatres 4nos available with seating capacity 180 each and 2nos in Hospital building with seating capacity 150 each.
