Jamia Hamdard was conceived as a seat of higher learning in Unani Medicine, Islamic Studies, Biosciences, Pharmacy, Nursing and other areas of knowledge by its founder as a means of fulfilling the objects of the wakf. Over a period of last ten years, Jamia Hamdard has emerged as an outstanding institution of higher learning with distinct and focused academic programmes. Graduate programme in Information Technology and Computer Applications and Post-graduate programmes in Information Technology, Computer Applications, Business Management, Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy have been started in the last few years. Undergraduate programmes in Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy are being introduced from this year. Jamia Hamdard offers postgraduate and doctoral programmes in several disciplines for which advanced facilities are available.

Jamia Hamdard has taken the top rank in the pharmacy category consecutively for several years now. Some famous courses offered by JHU are MBBS, BCA, MSc, and Ph.D. To be eligible for UG admission, the candidate must have passed 10+2 from the recognized board and have taken the CUET PG entrance test. The selection for an MBA is based on the CAT, GMAT, or XAT entrance exam. Students can apply for admission from the official website of the university. 

The university has nine schools that offer UG and PG degrees, diplomas, and doctoral-level programs in engineering, management, medical science, nursing, pharmacy, science, and Unani medicine. The minimum requirement for getting into any UG degree program is to pass the 10+2 examination with at least 50% marks. For PG course admission, the student must have a bachelor’s degree in a relevant field. For some Jamia Hamdard admission programs like BA, B.Com, and BCA, the merit scores and intermediate study completion are a must, whereas, for some engineering programs, the entrance JEE Mains is a must for the students to clear. Students also need to go through the entrance test designed by the university for the medical programs. The University provides various faculty and departments to provide education for different specializations. Full-time M.Tech, MBA, MCA, M.Pharm, MA, and M.Sc programs are available at Jamia Hamdard University in various specializations. All the PG application forms will be available on the official website. M.Tech and MA admissions are based on merit and interview, except for M.Tech (Food Technology) and MA (Human Rights) admissions, which are based on an entrance test.

Jamia Hamdard: Admission Process and Important Dates

1. Online Procedure

  • Visit the official university site. 
  • Select Jamia Hamdard University Admission Portal.
  • Use a valid email ID to register yourself.
  • After completing the registration, the system will generate a unique password and Login ID.
  • Use the password and login-id to log in and access the application form.
  • Fill the blank fields in the admission form with your personal information and education history.
  • Scan and upload the necessary documents for verification.
  • Pay the application form fees.
  • The admission fee for UG, PG, and PhD courses is INR 1212, and for MBBS General is INR 1500.

2. Offline Procedure

  • Students have to collect the admission form from the university campus counter.
  • Please fill out the admission form and submit it.
  • Attach copies of the relevant documents to the admission form.
  • Pay the Jamia Hamdard University admission fee in the form of a Demand draft.

Jamia Hamdard University Placement drives are conducted in the month of June annually. The Placement Cell at Jamia Hamdard is coordinated by the placement committee which compromises faculty members and student representatives from various branches. Students are provided with pre-placement services like mock interviews, seminars, and workshops to prepare them for the workforce. The college provides internships for students in medical, engineering, and other courses. The highest placement package offered was INR 7.2 LPA and the average package offered was INR 3.5 LPA.
