The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is a tertiary care, super-specialty hospital located in Vasant Kunj, New Delhi, India. It was established in 2009 by the Government of the National Capital Territory of Delhi as an autonomous institute under the Societies Registration Act, 1860. The ILBS is a mono-superspeciality hospital, which means that it provides primarily liver and biliary care. This focus on a single organ system allows the institute to achieve a high degree of expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of liver and biliary diseases

The ILBS has a team of over 1000 doctors, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. The doctors are all highly qualified and experienced in liver and biliary diseases. They have received training in some of the best medical institutions in India and abroad.

The ILBS has a state-of-the-art infrastructure. It has a sanctioned capacity of 549 beds, out of which more than 300 are already operational, 4 operation theaters, a 24×7 emergency department, a blood bank, a pathology laboratory, and a radiology department. The hospital also has a dedicated research center. The ILBS is a leading center for liver and biliary care in India. The Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS) is a NABH accredited facility. NABH stands for National Accreditation Board for Hospitals & Healthcare Providers. Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences (ILBS): Admission Process and Important Dates

  • Visit the ILBS official website. 
  • Click on the Academics tab and select the “Admission” tab. 
  • Fill out the application and upload the required documents. 
  • Check thoroughly and submit the application. 
  • Candidates can pay the application fee through Net Banking/Debit Card/Credit Card. 
  • Candidates are advised to take the printout of the application for future reference.
  • Candidates seeking admission to DM and M.Ch courses at ILBS must appear in NEET SS conducted by NBE followed by a counselling process. 
  • The selection for PhD programme is made through performance evaluation in 2 stages:

Stage 1: Candidates who fulfil the minimum eligibility will be called for a written qualifying test which will conduct in New Delhi and it will be a simple General Aptitude Test.

Stage 2: The candidates who will get shortlisted will be invited for an interview round in the Institute. 100 will be the total marks that will be distributed as:

  • The candidate who has cleared the exam of NET as well as has a legal JRF fellowship- 30 marks
  • Candidates with previous research experience of 6 months minimum- 20 marks
  • 10 minutes Research Presentation- 10 marks
  • Communication with faculty along with interview- 40 marks

 

FAQs on the Admission Process 

1. Who are exempted from appearing for the Entrance Test for admission to the Ph.D programmes?

The candidates who have cleared examinations such as CSIR/UGC- NET JRF, DBT- JRF, ICMR- JRF can directly appear for the Interview.

2. What is the process of admission to college of nursing at ILBS?

The Post Graduate programme in Nursing (M.Sc Nursing) is a course built on the graduate level programme i.e. Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Suitable for nurses from all areas of practice, the programme is designed to equip the Under Graduate Nurses with knowledge, skills, personal, professional and inter – professional insights needed to confront, challenge and shape the future of nursing practice.

  • A candidate aspiring for admission to M.Sc Nursing programme shall have to apply in the prescribed online application form that is complete in all aspects on or before the last date of submission. (For ONLINE APPLICATION, log on to the portal).
  • The candidate shall also appear in the written Entrance Examination and Interview held at Institute of Liver and Biliary Sciences, New Delhi on the date and time advertised by the Institute.

Note:

 The Admission Committee duly constituted for the purpose shall prepare a Merit List on

the basis of the marks obtained in the written Entrance Examination and Interview.

 Admission Committee shall display/ publish the list of candidates declared eligible for

admission after the due approval of the Competent Authority.

 Eligible candidates shall complete the prescribed formalities for admission within the

stipulated period of time failing which they shall forfeit the admission.

FAQs on Placements 

1. What is the policy on paid internship at the institute?

Monthly stipend as per the rules of the Institute will be paid to the candidates admitted to the DM/M. Ch course for 36 months, PDCC/PGCC for 12 months after taking their monthly attendance into consideration. Students enrolled for the certificate course courses will receive the stipend as applicable for the Junior Residents as per policy of ILBS. The students who obtain the degree in the college also gain experience and job opportunity in the college premises itself.
