Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune (Deemed-to-be University) was established by the University Grants Commission, Government of India under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956 vide its notification dated 11th January 2003.

Presently, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune has 13 Constituent Units that has created a brand name “DPU” in the field of Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Biotechnology, Management, Ayurved, Homeopathy, Design, Allied Health Sciences, Liberal Arts, Science & Technology and Online Learning Centre. It has state-of-the-art infrastructure and dedicated faculty members. The university offers 6 months online certificate programmes such as the Online Certificate Course in Hospital and Health Care Management, Certificate Programme in Hospital and Health Care Management, Certificate Course in Digital Marketing Programme and Certificate Programme in Digital Marketing. 1. What is the admission procedure for Indian students?

From February onwards, the admission forms are available. The admission advertisements are released in the National and Regional Newspapers, where all the admission details are given. Students can avail the form by sending the requisite form fees by demand draft to The Registrar, Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune or paying the same in cash personally at the Vidyapeeth Office. One can send the form duly filled in along with requisite test fees by the Prescribed Date given in the Admission Notice. All admissions are done through Entrance Tests conducted by the Dr. D. Y. Patil Vidyapeeth, Pune.

2. What is the admission procedure for NRI/PIO/FN students?

A person belonging to NRI / PIO / FN category is not required to appear for the entrance test conducted by the Vidyapeeth. However, he/she shall submit a separate application, in the specifically prescribed form, available in the office of Vidyapeeth. A committee, appointed by the competent authority for the purpose, admits candidates on the basis of inter se merit of the applicants, (decided on the basis of the academic record of the candidate, the standing of the institution from which the candidate has obtained the entry qualifications, etc.).

Under the NRI, PIO and FN categories, only those students who have studied and passed the qualifying examination from schools and / or colleges located in foreign countries (all countries other than India) are considered. These includes the students studying in schools and colleges situated in the foreign countries, even if the concerned school / college is affiliated to any Board of Secondary Education or a Vidyapeeth in India. However, wards of NRIs, PIOs or FNs, who are studying for the qualifying examination in schools located in India, are excluded.

According to the NIRF Report 2023, 161 MD/ MS, 63 BDS, and 46 MDS students were placed during 2022 placements. The median package offered to MD/ MS students during DY Patil Pune placements 2022 was INR 22.10 LPA. For BDS and MDS courses, the median package stood at INR 6.15 LPA and INR 9 LPA, respectively.
