Banaras Hindu University Varanasi: Banaras Hindu University (BHU) is a collegiate, central, and research university located in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, India. BHU’s main campus is spread over 1,370 acres and was built on land donated by the Kashi Naresh Prabhu Narayan Singh, the hereditary ruler of Banaras.
BHU offers a wide range of medical courses, including undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and doctoral (PhD) programs. The medical courses at BHU cover various specializations, allowing students to pursue their interests and develop expertise in specific areas of medicine. Admission to the medical courses at BHU is highly competitive. The institute conducts its own entrance examination and selection process to select candidates for the programs.
The medical course offered by BHU is the MBBS program, which has a duration of 5 and a half years, including a one-year internship. The eligibility criteria for the MBBS program is to have completed class 12th with an aggregate of 50% marks (General and OBC) and 40% (SC/ST). The selection basis for the MBBS program is the NEET UG exam. The fees for the MBBS program at BHU are INR 1,00,000 per year.
