Sri Balaji Society (SBS) stands as a testament to visionary leadership, established in 1998 by the late Prof. Dr. (Col) A. Balasubramanian, who also served as the Founder President & Chancellor of Sri Balaji University, Pune. The society underwent a pivotal move in 2006 to its current location in Tathwade, Pune. The transformative journey toward becoming a university in 2019 was made possible by the unwavering dedication and foresight of our esteemed founder.

At the heart of Sri Balaji University is the Balaji Institute of Technology and Management (BITM), the institution’s technological hub. Originally known as the Indian Centre for Telecom Management (ICTM), it commenced operations in 2002, situated behind the Pune railway station. The institute’s inception was driven by a strategic understanding of the immense growth potential within India’s IT, ITES, and related service industries.

In 2007, after securing approval from the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the institute underwent a significant transformation, rebranding itself as the Balaji Institute of Technology & Management (BITM). This evolution aligned with the institution’s commitment to providing quality education, rigorous training, and fostering excellent placements—a formula that propelled this technology-driven business school into the limelight within the realm of Management Education.

Recognition has followed suit, with BITM achieving notable rankings, including being named the Top #3 B-School in Pune according to the Times of India in 2021. Additionally, it earned a spot among the Top #3 Telecom B-Schools in India, as per Outlook in 2004.
